Sketch + Sketch (Two For the Price of One)

I'm Johnny Relaxed right now. Friday night, I played a bunch of God of War 2 (I never finished it and I've got to get ready for God of War III), read an old issue of Giant Robot featuring an interview with the Katamari series designer Keita Takahashi. Last night, we went to see Ghost Writer, I played more God of War and read a bunch of Arabs: a History.

I also did these two sketches:

One Last Week of Life Drawing

You know, the reason I've been able to post so much art from this class is because I haven't made it out to the art store to get a couple of larger pads. I usually have a nice big pad of drawing or charcoal paper and then a pad of newsprint for life drawing. Since I hadn't been to lfie drawing in maybe three years my supplies on that front were completely depleted. Which means I've been drawing in a 9×12 sketchbook. That kind of sucks for the art itself, since I have to use pencil/pen and not charcoal/conte crayons, but it does mean I can share more of my art here.

At least there's that.

Check out this week's higlights:

Having No Deadlines (Self Imposed or Otherwise) is Fun

Last night, I watched Lost, read a chapter of The Arabs: A History, watched Stagecoach and drew this:

Fun.

Switching Gears

From code to full-on art mode. I've got that show in just a couple of weeks so I feel like I ought to work out something to walk in there with- even if it's just a style in mind and not a finished piece. To that end, back to the sketch book.

And my taxes. I finished this drawing, read a little and then… sat down to do my taxes. How's that for celebrating? Really, at this point everything is a little bit more fun because the redesign of this site was hanging on me like an anchor. So, in some ways, my taxes weren't so bad :) Let's see how they look when I make it to the end, of course. If I get some $$ back I might even have a smile at the end of the day.
