Separated at Birth? Check Out These Logos: Microsoft's Fuse Labs and Newbury Networks

Someone sent these along to me and I had to share.

Newbury Networks (Logo from 2001)

Microsoft Fuse Labs

I'm actually a Microsoft shareholder, so I'm definitely not out to "get" Microsoft, but that's pretty freakin' similar if you ask me. In fact, f you drop them into Photoshop and adjust the heights to match, they're identical.

Boo!

Papa's Got a Brand New Bag -AKA- 1253 Days Down 14 More To Go

Yes, this is that big news I hinted at earlier.

(And we pause for a brief, celebratory interlude)

James Brown, ladies and gentlemen, James Brown.

Apparently, everyone that needs to know now knows, so I'm free to share this with the rest of you:
I've got a new job.

After almost exactly three and a half years making orange look good down in Norwood alongside the fine folks at Cramer (and they are fine folks,) I've accepted an offer from Molecular. I'll be wrapping things up over at Cramer for the next few weeks and starting at Molecular on February 1st.

Why? The formula goes like this:

More coding + new verticals + consumer clients + hard problems = I'll take it.

I'm going to miss the hell out of the folks at Cramer (especially the day after Lost airs) but this really feels like it should be a fun move for me. So… I move.

And now you know.

I'm Doing Some Writing For Cramer's Blog

We're doing a little bit more with social media at Cramer these days. I've been enlisted to help out on that front. As part of that effort I've started writing some posts for AWiderNet, Cramer's blog. Today I cranked out my first post:

On Internal Projects, Company Blogs and Making “Stuff”

It's a beauty.

Go. Read. Comment.

Introducing HTML + CSS + JavaScript, My New Blog About the Web and Web Technology

I've decided to move all of my writing about the web and web technology over to one place. That place is- HTML + CSS + JavaScript.

Why? I wanted to separate out that stuff so I can present a single point for people interested in those subjects. For example, when I give a presentation it's a lot easier to say "this is where I write about the web," than it is to explain this place.

It also allows me to be a little freer with what I post around here, which will be fun.

So, if you're here because I occasionally write articles about web and web technology, make sure you check out what I'll have going on over there. If you're here because of the art, writing on entertainment and my random musings on sports, then by all means, stick around here. Or read both. I'll have no complaints :)

I'll likely post a few times a week. Code samples, interesting links with commentary, and editorializing will be the main content. Peruse the web category here for a blueprint.

As with everything I do, it's a work in progress, so please let me know if anything goes horribly awry. I'll be tinkering for months over there getting everything tweaked out properly, so the more feedback I get, the better.
