Wow.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
“the dedication Copy. first edition, inscribed by the author to her father on the dedication page. The printed dedication reads: “To Peter Rowling, in memory of Mr Ridley and to Susan Sladden, who helped Harry out of his cupboard.” Rowling’s lengthy autograph inscription provides a hint about the inspiration for one of the principal characters in the Harry Potter series. The author has circled the portion of the printed dedication directed towards her father and written, following a pointing arrow, “Dear Dad–If I had said Ronald (Weasley) Ridley, they would have tracked the poor bloke down but that’s why Ron’s called Ron of course! Happy Father’s Day 2000 and lots of love from your first born J. K. Rowling.” Beneath her signature, Rowling has added a line of nine x-kisses and a simple sketch of a hand (labelled Pesticide) reaching after a running figure of a gnome (so labelled).”
Collection of 26 Beanie Babies from Ex-Wife
Collection of 26 Beanie Babies from Ex-Wife
“This belonged to my ex-wife who had about a 1000 of these Beanie Babies and when she moved, this one box of these got left behind, and now I am selling the goofy little things.”
“It is a stuffed animal, get over it! I don’t think my ex-wife was in the Black Market Beanie Trade..but then again, I didn’t know she was having an affair either! Thus no gauruntees!”
“…I am so upset that this clown of a woman figured out my SUPER PLAN TO SCAM MILLIONS FROM THE UNKNOWING BEANIE WORLD! I FIGURED I WOULD RETIRE FROM THIS RUSE! What a dolt she is! I have blocked her from my bidder list, that way she can cry about it. ”

While the whole list is funny, the kicker for me is all the way down the bottom. I just love that “Anti-Sniper” graphic.
If they don’t ship to Canada, they don’t ship to Canada.
Wired News: U.S. EBay Seller Refuses Canucks.
The reason may be stupid, but the rules are clear, if they don’t want to ship to Canada, they don’t have to. So the original auction was 100% legit. Afterwards they became a little silly, not shipping the item to a US address because the bidder was Canadian. But they were well within their (boneheaded) rights on the first auction.
they must have had chimpanzees doing their inventory.
In this auction- Old $$$$ Million Dollar Comic Book Collection they say that
“After a couple of years of work whenever time allowed, we have NOT come close to finishing, having done probably less than 20% of the comics. We have managed however to get through over 7,000 of the books “
2 years to inventory 7,000 books? That’s like 10 books a day. Even accepting “whenever time allowed” as being prohibitive, that’s a snail’s pace.
It’s been a while since I’ve gone through a large volume of books, but I’m pretty sure I could inventory 7,000 comics in about a week. They should have hired me.
I want this, just so when guests come over I can say -
