Cycling: Hincapie! Plus, la Vuelta Begins With a Slow Week.

The headline says it all:

Hincapie wins U.S. pro road race

It may not be as cool as if he'd won that second yellow jersey, but it will still be cool to see George bopping around Europe in the stars and stripes next season. I really have to make it down to Greenville some time.

Just Finished a New Commission

It's a custom sweatshirt design for a party. This is the logo:

I think it's pretty cool.

And, no, it's not for the Secretary of State :)

Soon to be posted on my graffiti art commission page along with a new painting I'm working on.

Yeah, I'm a little busy.

Fun times.

He's Always Been My Senator. Rest In Peace, Ted Kennedy

This is a sad day. He's going to be missed.

SENATOR TED KENNEDY, R.I.P.

I've only known a world where Ted Kennedy was my Senator. This is uncharted territory for me.

I wonder if his replacement will ever feel so much like our guy. Kennedy was. Personally, I stared at his father's name on the wall of my high school growing up, so there was a connection there that the next guy might not have. Kerry certainly doesn't.

Movies 2009 #24 The Name of the Rose

Instead of a review, here are some things I have a hard time believing:

  • I can't believe they made a movie out of The Name of the Rose
  • I can't believe Christian Slater was in it.
  • I can't believe I willingly watched it.
  • I still can't believe the book was a best-seller.
  • I can't believe I was enough of a fan of the book that I actually (kind of) liked a Christian Slater movie. Especially this one where he basically stares dumbly at the camera for two hours with a wide-eyed, mindless glare. Of course, Sean connery kind of makes up for him. But, still!
  • I can't believe I'm going to pass off a laundry list as a review. But I am!

Lovecraft Week- Pickman's Model

I mentioned that I'd be doing some sketches this week in honor of Lovecraft's birthday.

Here is one such sketch. It's from Pickman's Model. Since it's set in Boston, it's a favorite of his stories around these parts. This sketch is a play on the "punch line" for the story, so if you've never read it, please click the above link and check it out in it's entirety and then come back and see my handiwork.
