Mainly Because it's Interesting to Me…
My Top Ten Blog Posts from 2008:
- Acid3 Test Released. I Took Some Screen Captures. Lots of Fail. 43,102 page views. A post so popular it knocked my site off the net. Well, getting on the front page of Slashdot actually knocked it off of the net, but who's counting? The post also received significant traffic from tech.wp.pl (over 4000 referrers), dailytech.com, reddit.com, dzone.com, smashingmagazine.com, thinkvitamin.com, and stumbleupon.
- Graffiti Letter N 8,379 page views. Thanks to the Google.
- Why Front End Performance Matters to Everyone, Not Just the High Traffic Giants 7,212 page views. A late entry. On New Year's Eve day this post spent most of the day on the front page of Reddit. It also hit the front page of Hacker News.
Traffic spikes aside, I'm really happy with the post. I think it hits the mark. Performance is of great interest to me, so I'm happy I was able to put something out there about it that got people talking.
- The Finished Product- Full Digital Graffiti Alphabet 4,189 page views Another big gift from Google.
- 10 of the Best Graffiti Writers in the World. Style Masters. 4,061 page views Another one that spent some time on the front page of Reddit.
- Two Columns of Variable But Equal Height Using Simple CSS and a Couple of DIVs 4,023 page views Google. This one surprised me, finishing so high.
- Graffiti Letter J- Only Nine to Go. 2,791 page views Googlerrific.
- Graffiti Letter O
2,263 page views Googtastic. - Graffiti Letter I 1,826 page views Google-rama.
- FBI Seeks Public Aid in Solving D.B. Cooper Mystery 1,737 page views Briefly ranked #1 for "D.B. Cooper" on MSN. I have no idea why it bubbled up so high, but it was the top result for a day and generated a ton of traffic.
I'll take it- especially since I'm fascinated by the D.B. Cooper story.
So… what will 2009 bring? Who knows. All I know is I better start cracking…
