Bill Gates on LinkedIn

In addition to revamping their interface, LinkedIn is also now being graced by the presence of Bill Gates:

LinkedIn: Bill Gates

Speaking of the interface redesign, I actually like it. It's clean, orderly and has much improved organization. It's certainly an improvement over the old interface. I hated the old interface.

    Rob,

I was on LinkedIn checking out the new interface this morning and I noticed the banner announcing the question, so I clicked through. At two hours after the question had been asked, there were 247 responses. By the time I submitted mine 20 minutes later I was number 333 on page 12.

Have enough staff to read all those and make some sense of them, Bill?

I am getting used to the interface. I don't like the news in the middle. Have you found a way to get rid of it?

I haven't really poked around at the preferences yet. I wonder how much they offer in terms of customization. Since they seem to be taking a big cue from Facebook, I'd expect to see at least some control over positioning, but maybe they had their hands full with just the interface.

As for Bill's question, I'm hoping he can find the staff somewhere. It'd be a shame if he made a big splash like this and then it fell apart a little bit on the execution.

Yea, I noticed this when I logged in this morning. I should have answered his question because only 5 or 6 people had responded at that point. Since the replies sort oldest to newest, that first guy has stayed at the top… quite a lot of exposure.

The new interface is great, too. I agree.

Oh by the way, though it's not completely obvious, you can reposition/collapse the boxes on the right side of the screen on the LinkedIn homepage.

And there you have it. Thanks Steve…
