I tried my first Chanterelles recently on a trip to Vancouver Island (we foraged for them in a rain forest and then cooked them up that night). Now I'm obsessed with wild mushrooms and have to order them if I see them on a menu. If you haven't tried Chanterelles I highly recommend them. P.S. thanks for posting my letter to NY Times.
