Fuck Miramax
I had high hopes for these titles getting a proper release stateside. Oh, well. Miramax bought the rights to 50 titles from the Shaw Brothers film library. They will fuck up these films royally. Because Miramax is the worst studio in the world for foreign films, I imagine that they'll be both edited and dubbed. Which of course means I will never have any reason to stop buying bootlegs. I mean the picture quality and sound might be better, but aside from that a "Miramax cut" is going to be a worthless piece of shit. Bootleggers in the US aren't INTENTIONALLY giving the consumer a shitty product, they just work with the crap that they have. Miramax has access to everything and the continually pick the low road. I'm not going to reward those butchers. Anime companies know how to release material, why can't Hong Kong cinema get the same sort of treatment? Why must we be stuck with Miramax, the film raping hellspawn of doom? Here's the totally depressing story:
